Every outlet is assigned a political lean based on third-party research from AllSides, Media Bias/Fact Check, and Ad Fontes Media. Nordic outlets (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland) are rated using the Reuters Institute Digital News Report and Media Bias/Fact Check where available, supplemented by editorial analysis of ownership, funding, and historical coverage patterns.

Bias scores are assigned on a –2 to +2 scale: –2 is far-left, 0 is center, +2 is far-right. Ratings are sourced from peer-reviewed media bias research organisations and updated periodically. We do not editorially determine or adjust these scores — we surface third-party consensus.
Nordic outlets (added July 2025) are rated using the Reuters Institute Digital News Report, Media Bias/Fact Check, and editorial analysis where dedicated ratings do not exist. These ratings are our best-effort assessment and will be revised as more research becomes available. Headlines from Nordic sources are machine-translated to English for clustering purposes; the original language headline is preserved and will be shown in the UI.
